Ventured to the Golden Plains festival held at the wonderful Meredith Supernatural Ampitheatre last weekend. It was lots of fun. We got there early (8AM) and already most of the camping spots were taken, we did however eventually manage to find a clear area for us and a few mates. Borrowed Kristy’s brothers ute (including bogan stickers) and had a great camping setup including a plaid couch (nice one Kristy).

The crowd was nice and small (7,500), the sun was out all weekend (thanks to the old school firetruck spraying water on everyone we were kept cool), they actually served good food (I had 3 milkshakes - thankyou Illawara dairy - and as many curries & koftas - thanks Hare Krishnas) and it’s a great setting for a festival surrounded by farmland and with a natural ampitheatre meaning you can always see the stage.

The music was good (even if i didn’t know many of the artists who were playing). Sharon Jones, Beirut and the Bamboos were my favourites.

Even managed to sneak in a swim at Torquay beach afterwards to wash off the dirt, followed by the obligatory fish, chips and potato cakes.

On Saturday, Whitestock took place. An annual event a guy at work holds this time each year. The theme was villains - Ange and I went as cops. Couldn’t find a pig mask though!

Very fun and drink-fuelled night. Far too much photographic and video evidence at work today (damn media people). It would be OK normally, except there is lots of incriminating evidence of myself.

My memory is slightly hazy, but there was some great costumes - tsunami, monica lewinsky, blue girl out of X-Men and a cigarette. I came home covered in red paint, glitter and bruises - the result of a series of tackles into the drinks ice bath. Well played all.

Easter this weekend (3 x 4 day weeks in a row - woohoo).
