The month of music madness is over. In the past couple of weeks i’ve seen Michael Franti, DJ Shadow and the Roots. All really good gigs, but the best of all by far was DJ Shadow. I was a bit tired going to the gig, but the video show he produces is so amazing you can’t help but look on in amazement. Michael Franti was a bit of a suprise - I was given a copy of his new album a few days before going to the gig and thought it was great in parts - he’s also a really good crowd pleaser - plus the drummer did some really cool solos. The Roots were brilliant, they did a great selection of their songs old and new (although the vocals were unintelligible in parts which was a shame). Some of the drum freestyles from ?uestlove and the other drummer whose name I don’t know were jaw-dropping.So ends the run of gigs for a while. I’m off to see Wolfmother again on the 5th of Feb but apart from that i’m resorting to singing in the shower.
