carn the spurs?

Slowly the site populates itself once again. It’s fun reading these stories all over again, good times. Shit, i’m becoming reflective - help me god!

I’ve decided not to watch the AFL grand final this year. I can’t remember the last Grand Final I didn’t watch live. Even last year a big group of us went out on a bender, I passed out and was dragged into a taxi, taking us home to watch Stephen Quartermaine, Tim Lane and that other tiny guy whose name I’ve forgotten. Somehow felt great 2 hours later enjoying a swans victory over a beer. I like Ron Barassi, so I like the swans.

But this year the prospect of getting up at 5am, going to a pub full of dickheads Australians and getting extremely pissed doesn’t appeal. I fear that I may be embracing British life. Tonight i’m watching Tottenham play in the UEFA cup against Levski Sofia. If I was in Australia I would laugh at anyone who was watching:

a) a soccer match
b) a UEFA cup match
c) Tottenham

But i’m a bit hooked I have to admit, its a phenomenal league now with all the talent Chelsea pull in. Mind you, seeing Geelong play Port Adelaide at the Oval in a few weeks is going to be pretty good. I’m taking a few English mates along to show them how we do it. I would like to see blood.

Please.

Nathan Ablett would be nice too.

I just know i’m going to end up drunk on the phone to the family naming 3 players for every guernsey number at Geelong. Number 1; Steve Hocking, Steve King…Dickhead!

Carn the Cats!

Hi

Well as you may have guessed, I’ve had a few issues with the site. The server all the files were held on had a big crash. Thankfully I haven’t lost everything - a few bits here and there. As long as my photos are safe, i’ll be happy.

Welcome to what i’ve now termed my slash and burn lifestyle. It has its up and down-sides, but ultimately new life spurns. My worldly posessions fit into three backpacks and I think that’s great. Who needs constraints and rules?

In exciting news, I get paid on Friday, the first time i’ve had money going into my bank account for about 4 months. I’ve lived the last couple of weeks on about £20, which is approximately how much a loaf of bread costs over here. Needless to say, happy days are here again.

So hopefully everything is restored by this weekend (bar the photos which might take a while longer). I’ve got some cool new ideas for the site when it relaunches proper.

Please check out the following site which is serving as inspiration in these miserable times for Travelogue (play the video on the front page): Where the Hell is Matt

Adios

The pressure is getting to me - here’s 29 of the best from the past couple of months. Now, quit the death threats.
